Chevrolet makes great headlines!!

Chevrolet Equinox is most dependable car in its class

The Chevrolet Equinox has been named the best car in its class by J.D. Powers and Associate.  It won this prestigious award due to its handling, its power matched with its fuel efficiency and its list of features.  Some of the features that are included in the Chevrolet Equinox are the Chevy MyLink connectivity and infotainment system, which can leverage an owner’s smartphone to deliver hands-free control over audio and communications features like Pandora Internet Radio and Stitcher SmartRadio, blind-spot mirrors for enhanced visibility, Active Noise Cancellation (in four-cylinder models) for superior cabin quietness and ambient lighting.  One more interesting piece of news is that the Chevrolet Volt, Silverado and Impala won a cost of ownership award.  The cost of ownership includes not only paying a low MSRP, but also includes low costs to keep the car and use it daily.  Fuel, Insurance, repairs, depreciation and other costs are associated with your vehicle.  Chevrolet kept all these costs low in these three vehicles to win this award.  Click here to go back to the klicklewis website.

Introducing Chevy’s Ecologic

Chevrolet believes they have a responsibility to consistently strive to reduce the environmental impact of their vehicles and  manufacturing facilities. They also believe that actions speak louder than words. In 2011, Chevy made an unprecedented commitment to reduce up to 8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions over the next few years. This project is ongoing and when it is completed the carbon-reducing benefit will be equivalent to the CO2 emissions, during 2011, from every vehicle we sold from November 18, 2010, to December 31, 2011. This project is just one aspect, though, of Chevy’s ongoing efforts to address the environmental impact of their vehicles and our facilities.

As Chevrolet vehicles are designed and built, there is a focus on investing in innovative fuel-saving technologies, employing alternative energy sources, reducing their facilities’ emissions and evaluating  waste streams. Therefore, in 2012, Chevy will begin displaying a label on their vehicles, describing various attributes of the vehicle and its manufacturing facility that demonstrate Chevy’s commitment to reducing environmental impact throughout the stages of the vehicle’s life span, from manufacturing to driving to recycling.  Chevy calls this initiative: “Ecologic.”

Ecologic is simply a recognition of the automaker’s systematic attention to environmental responsibility and their commitment to monitoring progress as they continuously work to reduce environmental impact. To further emphasize their commitment, the statements on Chevy Ecologic labels will be audited by an independent, third-party sustainability agency.

2012 Chevrolet Volt in stores now!

2012 Chevrolet Volt at KlickLewis

If you are looking for a fuel efficient car to drive around in these days because the price of a gas is so high, why not stop in to our dealership and look at the 2012 Chevrolet Volt?  A four-seat hatchback, the Volt is a very good all-purpose automobile, with very low operating costs. It’s electric-powered, but it carries its own gas-powered generator so when it runs out of juice it can continue for hundreds of miles. It won’t leave you on the side of the road, wishing for an extension cord. The Volt is not a traditional hybrid with a gasoline engine that frequently drives the wheels and directly propels the car. Instead, Volt’s power system is similar to that used for decades in diesel locomotives. Think of the Volt’s small gas engine as an electricity producer or a range extender, as GM calls it. When it runs, the gas engine turns a generator that recharges the battery pack. But the electric drive motor is always moving the car regardless of whether the engine is running. The handling of the Volt is also excellent, and it has a nice amount of power to it.  So if you are looking for a new car, stop off at our dealership and try out the 2012 Chevrolet Volt.

Chevy at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show

The 2012 Detroit Auto Show was, as always, and exciting time for automakers and their fans. Chevrolet did its part by introducing two hot concept coupes targeting next-generation buyers.

The Code 130R, is a four-seat coupe, featuring “heritage performance-inspired” styling, turbocharged engine and rear-wheel drive.

The second concept — the three-door Tru 140S — is a front-wheel-drive, “affordable exotic”, four-seat sporty coupe. The Tru 140S is based on the the Chevrolet Cruze platform and the Chevrolet Volt electric vehicle with extended range.

Both cars if produced, would have approximately 150 horsepower, comfortably seat four, feature innovative storage, WiFi, smart phone integration, heads-up display and Chevrolet MyLink.
