The 2012 Buick LaCrosse with eAssist was recently introduced at the LA Auto Show in November. With this new model, consumers will get a premium driving experience, along with a fuel efficient vehicle. Buick is adding its eAssist fuel-saving technology as standard equipment on four-cylinder versions of the 2012 LaCrosse. With the new LaCrosse you get a 2.4-liter direct-injection engine with a 15-kilowatt motor/generator connected to a small (0.5 kW-hr) lithium-ion battery pack. You get 25/37-mpg , automatic stop-start with no interruption in the air conditioning, and aggressive fuel shutoff when coasting. The eAssist model replaces the conventional four-cylinder LaCrosse, creating a clear price difference between the LaCrosse and Regal ranges.

Buick has recently introduced new submodels at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November, including the much-anticipated Regal GS. Buick estimates a sub-7-second 0-60 mph time for the 2012 Regal GS, thanks to a new Ecotec 2.0-liter turbo four making 255 horses and 295 pound-feet of torque, with a six-speed manual gearbox. Later in the model year a six-speed automatic with Driver Shift Control will be available.
The Buick car gets unique front and rear fascias, rocker panel extensions, an integrated rear spoiler, a flat-bottomed sport steering wheel, metal sport pedals, and 12-way front heated seats with four-way power lumbar control. The GS-specific black interior comes with satin-finish elements.The GS also includes high-performance four-wheel discs with Brembo front calipers and standard 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with all-season tires. Five-spoke 20-inch-polished alloys with performance tires are optional. Computer Damping Control and the Interactive Drive Control System are standard in the GS.

GM posted a 31 percent increase in retail sales last month with sales of the new Buicks and Chevys leading the way. The most popular
models include the European inspired Lucerne and the luxury Enclave as well as the enviornmentally friendly Chevy Volt and the reliable Silverado.
“January was a good month and signaled a solid start to the new year for each of our divisions,” said Don Johnson, vice president, U.S. Sales Operations in a recent press release. “Our results were driven by gains across the board in all segments, with our newest models leading the way.”
Chevrolet delivered 125,389 total vehicles in January, a 19-percent increase versus last year. Retail sales for Chevrolet rose 33 percent for the month. Retail sales were propelled by improving Cruze sales, which were 129 percent higher than the compact car it replaces. Silverado and Equinox retail sales, which were up 35 and 46 percent respectively.
Buick reported 13,269 total sales, a 32-percent increase compared to a year ago. This includes a 44-percent rise in year-over-year retail sales, led by Regal (2,290 units) and Enclave, which had retail sales 37 percent higher than last year. This marks the 16th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains for the brand.
